We are a small society with about 100 paid-up members. An administrator who run the site for several years in the past created most of the pages and well over a hundred posts. This person is no longer involved at all in the society. We control who can sign into our member area only by verifying membership against the users.

How can we delete this past user without deleting all their post and pages?

When you delete a user that’s provided content, WordPress will give you the option of assigning that content to another user.

    Thanks, Steve. Much appreciated.
Another admin tried deleting the person and ended up having to have the host do a full restore from a backup. Not sure if the admin saw and/or read this screen.
