# Deleting wp-comments-post.php

 * in which file do I find wp-comments-post.php or wp-trackback.php to delete it?

 * Those files are located in the root directory of your WordPress installation.
   Out of curiosity, why do you want to delete them?

 * You can just disabled both comments and trackbacks if you want you know, rather
   than deleting the files. 😉

 * If you don’t delete the files you may still get spammers posting through them,
   and while the comments won’t appear not everyone wants their database getting
   clogged up with them.

 * Umm, WTF are you talking about? If you disable comments on that post, WordPress
   won’t accecpt comments for that post. Period.

 * Hi,
 * thank you very much for the advice, especially how to disable the comment function.
   I had more than 10000 comments from spammers and whatever I tried I couldn’t 
   stop them to fill up my mailbox with hundreds of spammail daily. I have been 
   disabling now future and past comments with SQL and hope it will work
 * I am not sure what the effect will be when I disable trackback and pings for 
   showing up in RSS directories. Where would I find information about that?
