The premium theme I’m using does have a shortcode on the WP page for blog posts (info.ch/blog/). I have a description on that page but the Google index contains the theme shortcode and not my description. What could be wrong with my metadata setup? Thanks for help!

From what I see in the html code, the description is set correctly by add-meta-tags, but google returns a result for that page containing shortcode information. I assume it is a matter of time before Google re-indexes the page picking the new correct description. I’d highly recommend re-saving the page (after making some dummy changes), so that the last modification time changes in the page metadata and the sitemap in the sitemap and possibly notify Google about the fresh sitemap data. Also, a new post might trigger re-indexing of the latest-posts-page as well.

About how much time it will take before the change is reflected in the Google results, I can only wild guess.

    Kind Regards,

Thanks for letting me know, Hans. I think it’s just a matter of a few days time before the description is reflected in the Google results.

Also, thank you for donating to this project. Much appreciated.

    Best Regards,
    George
