Hi there,
Thank you for writing!
Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) issues are often complex because they aren’t usually caused by the theme’s code itself. Instead, they are typically triggered by a “tug-of-war” between your specific content (images, fonts, or ads) and how your server or optimization plugins deliver those files to the browser.
Because every website has a unique combination of plugins, hosting speeds, and media, resolving a CLS requires a deep-dive technical audit and live debugging of your specific environment. As this falls under advanced site optimization and custom troubleshooting, it’s unfortunately beyond the scope of support we can provide.
To help you point a developer or a performance specialist in the right direction, I recommend checking these common “external” culprits:
- Image lazy-loading on the header or logo.
- Flash of Unstyled Text (FOUT) caused by Google Fonts.
- Optimization plugins that may be delaying the theme’s structural CSS.
We appreciate you using Hestia, and I hope these pointers help you track down the source of the shift!
Kind regards!
Hi Lucian,
Just wanted to chime in and say I’ve struggled with this exact same CLS issue before! Just to add to what Rodica mentioned, my culprit ended up being my caching plugin. It was lazy-loading the logo and the featured image, which caused that layout shift.
Try going into your optimization plugin and specifically excluding your logo and above-the-fold images from being lazy-loaded. That simple tweak dropped my CLS right back into the green. Hope that helps, and best of luck with the site!
Hi
Thank you for your reaply! Yes, I have excluding logo and background image from lazy loaders. In addition, I have installed a “super plugin of optimizazion”, That is Rocket and it should help me. I hope so!
