 * When I go into the images in the Library, I’ve noticed that the image’s URL can
   be different than the permalink. I guess this is where I’m confused about permalinks,
   specifically for images. How can the “File URL” be different from the “permalink”?
 * Forgive me if this has been answered before… just trying to understand this part
   of WordPress better.
 * Thanks in advance.

 * “Permalinks are the permanent URLs to your individual weblog posts, as well as
   categories and other lists of weblog postings. A permalink is what another weblogger
   will use to link to your article (or section), or how you might send a link to
   your story in an e-mail message. The URL to each post should be permanent, and
   never change — hence permalink.”

 * When you upload an image in WordPress, either in a post or directly to the media
   library, WordPress will also create a special media post that can be used to
   display it.
 * The permalink is the URL for that media post, whilst the File URL is the URL
   for the actual image file.
 * I think that makes sense 🙂
