 * Hi there. As the title says different posts display the same description. Don’t
   know why Google fetches text from the footer section of my website and displays
   it as description but it’s really annoying. I’m not sure whether this issue is
   related to AIOSEO plugin or not but I need your help. Please check attached pic.

 * Hi [@jedan](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jedan/),
 * Thanks for reaching out!
 * Unfortunately, Google doesn’t have to use the SEO title and description you provide
   and never has.
 * They take what you provide as a suggestion and will return what they think is
   the best, most relevant title and description based on the term that’s being
   searched for. This process is completely automated, and Google can’t be forced
   to display the desired title and description.
 * This is not specific to All in One SEO, but just how Google works.
 * You can have a look at this thread at Google regarding a similar case: [https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/19762370/website-meta-description-is-showing-my-footer-text-instead-of-of-my-meta-description?hl=en](https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/19762370/website-meta-description-is-showing-my-footer-text-instead-of-of-my-meta-description?hl=en)
 * We have an article about this here ([https://aioseo.com/docs/why-doesnt-the-title-and-description-i-set-appear-in-search-results/](https://aioseo.com/docs/why-doesnt-the-title-and-description-i-set-appear-in-search-results/))
   and Google has their official documentation about this here:
    - Controlling title links in search results: [https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/appearance/title-link](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/appearance/title-link)
    - Controlling descriptions in search results: [https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/appearance/snippet](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/appearance/snippet)
 * The best approach here is further optimizing the SEO Description of those pages
   to better describe the page’s content and match the user’s search intent, and
   hopefully, Google would use the set description in the future.
 * I highly recommend reading this guide for more details: [https://aioseo.com/docs/quality-guidelines-for-seo-titles-and-descriptions/](https://aioseo.com/docs/quality-guidelines-for-seo-titles-and-descriptions/)

 * Well that’s ridiculous. What’s the point of writing a description when it won’t
   show up in Google search results?!

 * Hi [@jedan](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jedan/),
 * The purpose of the meta description is to provide Google with a brief summary
   of your content. This is part of SEO and has been for decades. Google may use
   the meta description if they think it best answers the search term that’s been
   entered.
