# Directories not visible to non-logged in users

 * Since updating to 2.11.1 our directories only work with logged in members. At
   first I thought this was because the privacy options were all set to “Members
   Only”. So I changed it to “Anyone” and now the directories correctly state how
   many users were found, but do not display any information.
 * We’ve cleared cache and attempted to reinstall the plugin. Restoring to the previous
   version does fix the issue. However, with the security issues in that version,
   it would be preferable to stay at with the current/newer version.

 * [@yuriinalivaiko](https://wordpress.org/support/users/yuriinalivaiko/) I have
   restored our site down to our development environment, updated all plugins, removed
   ultimate member and reinstalled it to be as fresh as possible.
   Here are some
   images of the member directory settings as well as what the directory looks like
   for users logged in vs not logged in: [https://ibb.co/d0NqW74s](https://ibb.co/d0NqW74s)&
   [https://ibb.co/XkvPgQnr](https://ibb.co/XkvPgQnr). You can also see that I have
   put results text in for how many users are found and those are not displaying
   on either page. There are no errors in the error log and no console errors in
   the browser. Version 2.11.0 is still functioning correctly with all other plugins
   up to date. Also I have confirmed the UM Settings regarding user roles and privacy
   options that you mentioned in previous comments.

 * Hi [@krack3](https://wordpress.org/support/users/krack3/),
 * I can not access the `directorytestpage` on your website, the site returns status
   code 404. Is the page private? How can we test it?
 * The screenshot you attached shows the directory view from an administrator’s
   perspective. Administrators can see all profiles, ignoring any restrictions.
   Can a regular logged-in user see profile cards in the directory?
 * Can logged-out users access and view profiles via a direct link? If access to
   a profile via a direct link does not work, then the problem may not be with the
   directory, but with the profile privacy.
 * Regards

 * This is on our development site; here is a link: _[short link removed by moderator]_

   I tested it a user that is an “Editor”. They received the message that no one
   was found. Which is odd because both admins and logged-out users appear to be
   able to see everyone.
 * As for logged-out users being able to view the profile via a direct link. Yes,
   they can see the profile information.

 * [@krack3](https://wordpress.org/support/users/krack3/) Please do not use shortlinks;
   they’ve been abused in the past, so we do not permit them.
