# Directory

 * Alright. The blog was working in the original directory /Blog/ and to make the
   website more consistent I renamed the directory /blog/. Many hours later of trying
   to login, undo the change, erase and reinstall the software and even then move
   the new software back to the original directory – no success.
    I’ve searched 
   the help and the forum but the existing change directory topics are not relevent
   nor is the installation instructions. So, I guess the only way to fix this mess
   is to get into the dashboard and hopefully then it is only to change the path
   there. If there’s still more steps I may give up on WP. So, since I get a 404
   error for every file I try to open, how do I get WP to work?!!!

 * fix it back the way it was

 * Thank-you for your reply. The references were helpful and the blog is back. I
   should not have been mad at wordpress, I apologise, it was just frustration.
