Hi Chocotoff,
The pictures that you want to display on the right can be done by altering the display templates. We have an article here about how to do that: http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/support-forum/faq/customizing-bd-to-fit-your-theme/
The same principle applies for the first/last name display as well.
For your picture question–can you walk me through what you’re doing and what is failing? We definitely allow more than one image for listings if you have the settings correct, so it would help to know how you’re doing it and what’s going wrong.
Let me know!
Thank you so much for such a prompt reply.
Regarding the photos, it concerns the main page of the directory. I am trying to have categories shown as picture, not just as hypertext links.
It works on and off for the 1st pictures of the 4 categories meaning I was able to upload one specific one (Mickey Mouse) but then couldn’t put another one (size 72 px) more suitable. I tried to put Mickey back and did a few tries. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t while following the exact same procedure. That’s the reason why I believe there must be a bug. And I never was able to upload the 3 others photos for the remaining categories.
As for the procedure:
I go to Directory categories – select one of the 4 parent category – select a file (photo) – and try to upload it. The times I succeeded I had to click about 5-6 times on the upload button in order for it to react.
our directory page: http://troublesdapprentissage.com/business-directory/
We would like to have a picture for “Associations”, “Domaine médical”, …
Thanks again,
Eureka! I found what the bug is: in fact you have to ignore that the upload button doesn’t react to the click, wait a bit, then close the pop-up and the picture is there!
My question is now: how to fix the size of the photos. It is partly responding to the set up. I went to image in manage options, set the size to 190 -190 and if it works for 3 pictures out of 4, it doesn’t work for the first one. Any suggestion?

Thanks!
Hi Chocotoff,
Glad we got past that one.
In the future, please create new threads for new issues so we can better manage the old ones for search.
For the images–there are two kinds of images in your listings, the primary one and the gallery ones. There are two different settings for this–I suspect that’s what is going on here, since I’m not sure what the 3-out-of-4 exactly are on a listing, but one is definitely different.
The settings for all the images are under Directory Admin->Manage Options, Images tab. Have you changed the settings for all types? Can I see your settings in a screenshot? Use http://imageshack.us if you need to.
Thank you for your prompt reply.
I gave you the link to the page: http://troublesdapprentissage.com/business-directory/ so you see what the problem was. You will see that the first picture for the category “Associations” is larger than the 3 others (Domaine médical, domaine, thérapeutique, domaine scolaire) while they should respond to the same setting i.e. category settings width and height set in this case at 190 (all four images should be scares therefore but I would be OK if they stay as rectangles as long as they all have the same size.
Am I missing something? Should I change some settings elsewhere that under images – category settings?
Thanks,
Hi Chocotoff,
Can I get that screenshot I asked for above? That will help me understand what is going on here.
Here it is. It’s a first for me, so hope it works 🙂
It is the first picture I am concerned about, the one re “Associations”

Thanks for your help!
OK–that looks like the category image that you uploaded is simply a different size compared to the others.
If you change the thumbnail size after uploading an image, that will not affect any existing images. To get a resized image, you’ll need to re-upload that image you have for “Associations” after deleting it first from the category under Directory->Directory Categories.
Unfortunately I thought of that but it didn’t change anything. I am considering the size of pictures by pixels i.e. 72, should I consider looking at their width and height instead? I am not too good with handling pictures as you can tell 🙂
Can you walk me through exactly what you did, step-by-step? Seems like it should have changed the image so if it didn’t, I need to know what you tried.
