# Disable “Address Book” functionality?

 * Evaluating alternatives for currently defunct CFDB-plugin.
 * Found Flamingo nice and usable, especially its find() methods etc. to access 
   the data, but would at clients request require to disable/remove the “Address
   Book” functionality, as it scans/stores all the comment emails, user emails etc.
 * Currently it is only possible to disable the feature by editing plugin-code.
 * Could you add a filter or switch to Flamingo to achieve this?
 * Thanks for the great plugin and also CF7 in general.

 * I have changed the capability for:
    - ‘flamingo_edit_contacts’, and
    - ‘flamingo_edit_contacts’
 * In flamingo/includes/capabilities.php.
 * E.g. I changed ‘edit_users’ to ‘not_needed’ (knowing there is no such capability
   in our user roles) and the address book no longer shows up.
 * Obviously this would be overwritten during plugin updates.
