Deleting the qtrans_front_language cookie seems to have fixed it. It did change to “nl” after clicking the NL flag but still showed me the English version when I visited the site the next time. Deleting the cookie somehow made it remember the nl option.

Thanks, deleting the cookie fixed it. But why did it still redirect me to the English site my next visits after the cookie was set to NL by clicking the NL flag?

This should not happen if the cookie is stored.
Settings – Languages – Advanced – Cookie Settings = unchecked?
Can you give me a link to your site?
Yes that checkbox is unchecked. The website is unity.nl. I thought clearing the cookie fixed it but it still redirects me to /en.

qtrans_front_language cookie is not stored here, so every time I come to the Dutch version.
Clicking EN goes to the English version clicking NL to Dutch version – all of this works.
There must be something happening in your site that the cookie is not stored.

Detect the language of the browser and redirect accordingly. = Unchecked?
Yes unchecked. Thanks for helping. The qtrans_front_language cookie is getting stored here, and the last few minutes it has been working correctly, but it’s really random.

not here. The only content in the cookie I see here is
_gat
partypanel
_ga

Resave the options of qTranslate X again.
Tried that, but it didn’t change anything. If I use Chrome the qtrans cookie gets stored, but when I use Safari it doesn’t. But our own partypanel cookie (the modal window) works in both browsers.
