# Disable automatic updates

 * I understand pros and cons about having automatic updates enabled or not. Curious
   for those that have disabled automatic updates if you prefer the manual method(
   [http://codex.wordpress.org/Configuring_Automatic_Background_Updates](http://codex.wordpress.org/Configuring_Automatic_Background_Updates))
   or one of the plugins to manage the process. Comments?

 * I’m planning to switch to manual — lately, I’m being notified of WordPress updates
   multiple times per site per day!!
 * And now, one of these sites is NOT working — unable to login and I get an endless
   message that says “you have already updated the database”.

 * I like keeping the site patched and current but if it is done without my knowledge
   I can’t do a backup nor restore the server.
 * Are you planning on manually turning off the updates or use a plugin?
