I have a WordPress install that I once used for beta testing.

When I go to Dashboard > Updates, it says “BETA TESTERS: This site is set up to install updates of future beta versions automatically.”

How can I disable this so I only get stable (normal) updates?

I could simply do a fresh install, but I was more intrigued after I couldn’t find anything about this.

    1) Remove the plugin for Beta Testers

    2) Overlay the WP 3.8.1 files atop the ones you have (yes, it’ll work)

    3) Have a drink

So, what your saying is simply re-install 3.8.1 over the top of the current beta release and everything will be fine. What about the sql database ??

The db upgrades won’t break your site when you overlay the old code. They just won’t be called. WP’s pretty backwards compatible 🙂
