# Disabling Auto-Assignment

 * Hello, I would like to ask how disable auto-assignment in Awesome Support plugin.
   Although I love the plugin, I think the auto-assignment doesn’t make any sense.
 * I tried:
    - adding define( ‘WPAS_DISABLE_AUTO_ASSIGN’, true ); to functions.php
    - assigning a default staff *I understand that this is a fallback option
 * I’ll appreciate your help!

 * Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, there is no way to leave the assignee
   field empty when a user creates a ticket. A default assignee must always be designated.
