# Discrepancy in source code via plugin and webpage code

 * I have successfully implemented the chat messenger via the plugin. The “issue”
   is in comparing:
 * 1) the source code produced via the plugin
    …against 2) the code snippet that
   needs to be added when doing it via the business webpage (FB business page >
   Settings > Messaging > Add Messenger to your website > Get Started > Set up your
   Chat plugin > Set Up > Step 3: Copy Code).
 * Why are they different?
 * (I would post both snippets of code, but I’m not sure if it contains sensitive
   personal data. More than happy to share the code snippets via a secure channel.)

 * Hi [@hivizwebsolutions](https://wordpress.org/support/users/hivizwebsolutions/),
 * You don’t need to retrieve the code snippet from the FB Page settings if you’re
   using the WordPress plugin. The WordPress plugin will add the code to your site
   automatically 🙂
 * Hope this clarifies,

 * Thanks [@facebook](https://wordpress.org/support/users/facebook/),
 * I understand that it is redundant to add the code snippet from the FB Page settings
   if I’ve already implemented the chat messenger via the WordPress plugin.
 * My question is more from a place of curiosity.
 * With that clarified, could you please explain the source discrepancy between
   the two?
 * Many thanks!
