Display Disappears

The ScrapeAZon Test Frame works and this works but after a couple of days it disappears.
I’m using the following shortcode:
[scrapeazon asin=”B00HQLFHYK” width=”925″ height=”1225″ border=”false” country=”us”]

Hi, slandry.
Thanks for using ScrapeAZon. There are a couple of things that could cause the issue you’re experiencing. If you’re using a caching plugin or service, make sure that objects are not configured to remain cached for more than 23 hours.
Also, if you’re using responsive style and/or defer until footer settings, make sure that JavaScript is not being cached for more than 23 hours.
Based on the source output of the page you linked to, it looks like the object cache is the most likely issue because the expires date in the iframe source code on that page is 2015-11-27.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance and thanks again for using ScrapeAZon!
James
Hi James,
I’m not using a cache plugin and I’m not using responsive style. Can you suggest anything else as I would love the plugin when it shows. It shows on other pages like https://primalherb.com/product/prepared-he-shou-wu-extract-potent-8/ but after some time it will disappear as well.
Thanks
Hi, slandry.
Looks like the iframe source link on this page https://primalherb.com/product/prepared-he-shou-wu-extract-potent-8/ will expire tomorrow. What happens on the affected pages when you go to the ScrapeAZon settings Performance tab and clear the cache? Also, what are your settings on the Performance tab?
Thanks.
James
Here’s the screen shot of my settings: http://screencast.com/t/JkfltXcX
Hi, slandry.
Thanks for the screenshot. On that screen, you can clear the built-in cache that ScrapeAZon uses when a caching plugin is not available. If you clear that cache, do the reviews that disappeared reappear? I noticed that the expires date has changed to December 4 in the page source of the following URL:
https://primalherb.com/product/prepared-he-shou-wu-extract-potent-8/
Thanks and let me know.
James
Yes, I cleared the cache and it doesn’t make the others appear. Please view here: https://primalherb.com/product/reishi-mushroom-extract/ “WHAT CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING:”
Ok, on that page, the expires date is set to 2015-11-27, several days ago. Are you using the shortcode or the widget to display that data? If you’re using the shortcode, try modifying it slightly and updating the page. Also, can you copy the affected shortcode here for me to have a look?
For some reason, the cached ScrapeAZon data for that page seems to not be clearing.
Thanks and let me know.
James
Hi James,
Yes, if i make a change to say the size it will reappear but disappear in a couple of days. The shortcode I’m using is:
[scrapeazon asin=”B00HQLFHYK” width=”925″ height=”1225″ border=”false” country=”us”]
Thanks
One more question: what version of the plugin are you using? I’m going to take a look at the transient code for that version and see if I can determine what might cause it not to clear upon expiration.
Thanks.
Version 2.2.4
ThanksHi, slandry.
Ok, the plugin is properly expiring transients when using your settings and your shortcode in my development environment. I wonder if something’s up with your WordPress install or the database that might be preventing some of the transients from being properly cleared after they’re set.
Do you have another environment in which you can test the same shortcode using the same settings from your live environment? If so, set up a test post using that shortcode, but set the Performance tab expiration to 1 hour instead of the default 12. Once you’ve done that, give the test post a day or so and see if it’s still working. If it isn’t, let’s get together and look at the options table of your database so we can get a better idea of what’s up.
Thanks.
James
EDIT: Also, see if you can verify whether the date and time are correct on your live server.
James,
Would it be possible for me to pay a support fee to get this troubleshot and fixed? The plugin is great and will work perfect for my needs just having that disappearing issue.
Thanks
SeanHi, Sean.
Send me an e-mail via the form here with your e-mail address or other contact info:
http://www.timetides.com/contact
We’ll see if we can figure out why the transients aren’t expiring.
Thanks.
James
Looks like the issue was related to transients. Marking this as resolved since it looks like we have it fixed now.
Version 2.2.5 should fix this issue for anyone else who might be having it.
Hi I’m not going to hijack this thread but I am having the same issue so was wondering what the status of version 2.2.5 is and if it is near release?
