 * Hi Bill,
 * thank you for the great plugin. 🙂
 * I have a problem with this kind of shortcode: [display-posts post_status=”private”
   author=”current”].
 * Everything works fine if the user’s role is Admin or Editor, but it doesn’t if
   it is another. In my website a Subscriber can post private post from the front-
   end, resulting as author of it, and I’m trying to show in page a list of his
   private posts.
 * Trying to understand where I was wrong, I made some attempts.
    1) I’ve put post_status
   =”private,public” and noticed that only public posts are shown. 2) I’ve included
   in the shortcode the parameter ‘no_posts_message’ and noticed that it doesn’t
   appear. So, I guess something is returned by the wp_query but not shown.
 * I’m not sure that the problem concerns your plugin. If not, just tell me.
 * Thank you for the help!

 * The display of private posts is limited to users who have the capability to ‘
   read_private_posts’. By default, this is limited to super-admins, administrators,
   and editors. See here: [https://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities#Capability_vs._Role_Table](https://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities#Capability_vs._Role_Table)
 * Install [Capability Manager Enhanced](https://wordpress.org/plugins/capability-manager-enhanced),
   then go to Users > Capabilities. Select a role in the top left (ex: Contributor),
   then check “Read Private Posts” amd then save changes: [http://cl.ly/1w2a0b281G1D](http://cl.ly/1w2a0b281G1D)

 * Thank you! Great and fast support! 🙂
 * It works fine, but there’s a side effect. The user can now see also the private
   post of other users (which it shouldn’t be in the scope of a private post).
 * Actually what is strange to me is that even without any capability change the
   user (subscriber) can read his private posts and can see them listed in a category.
   So why he shouldn’t get them by your query?

 * That’s a very good point. I’ve reported the issue here and will work on it: [https://github.com/billerickson/display-posts-shortcode/issues/115](https://github.com/billerickson/display-posts-shortcode/issues/115)

 * This should now be fixed in the development version of the plugin. You can download
   it here: [https://github.com/billerickson/display-posts-shortcode/archive/master.zip](https://github.com/billerickson/display-posts-shortcode/archive/master.zip)
 * Once I have a few more features in there I’ll release the next version publicly.
   It could be a few weeks from now.

 * I’ve tried and it works! Very good job.
 * I wanted to put 5 starts but now I should rate it 5+
 * Thank you very much. 🙂
