Displaying EXIF Data

I recently installed NextGen gallery and am trying to use the short code [ imagebrowser id=28 template=exif ] when creating a new post or page. I have pasted the code in the text window changed the id to different images but keep getting the same result, the final page just shows the code and no image.

I am using the last version of wordpress, the pinboard theme. I did find an article form 2010 saying i need to modify the singlepic.php file but I was assuming this latest version of NextGen does not require this.
