 * Hi! I am thinking of switching over to Divi (elegantthemes.com) and build out
a new version of my site that I like. I use the perfect quotes all the time tho,
and need to know they will work if I do this 🙂
 * Thanks so much!

 * All themes are different, therefore I can’t assure the compatibility of the plugin.
Simply download and activate the Perfect Pullquotes plugin, and write a test
page/post utilizing the shortcode. You should be able to see the result when
   previewing the page or post.

 * Hi Adam. Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, its not that simple. First, the
theme is $250, and second I will need to install it on my site and go through
a ton of work to back up the current site, create a sub domain etc..etc.. all
to learn it either does or does not work. I was hoping you could tell me, and
check. I have HUNDREDS of blog posts with PP.. and if I need to re-do all of
them this will factor in with weather or not I bother with any of this.
 * Do you see where I am coming from.?

 * How would I have any idea if it works with your theme? Just install the plugin
and see if it works. If not, use something else. I’m not sure what you expect
   me to do here.

 * Seriously? That’s how you want to respond in a public forum?
 * Okay then Adam. Sorry to bother you. I guess I just assumed that anyone in the
business of making code, would know weather or not it’s compatible with a major
vendor who has several hundred thousand users.
 * Also, have a little more empathy. Look man, I get it we are all busy.. but, I
was asking a pretty important question, and trying to do the right thing by contacting
the dev. before I waste MY time and money on something that wont work or be compatible.
 * I think there IS a way that you can find out, and are choosing not too. What
tech question can I ask of the nice people over at Divi to see if it will work?
I am sure there is a way to find out without cutting up my website in the process?

 * You obviously don’t understand how WordPress, or “the business of making code,”
works. I gave you a solution to your issue, and it’s up to you whether or not
you’re willing to put forth the effort in testing your own website.
 * Your “major vendor” theme author is no different to me than any of the other
hundreds of thousands of WordPress themes that exist. I can’t possibly know,
or pretend to know, what is and is not compatible with every WordPress theme.
There could be no compatibility issues with the theme itself, however maybe your
web server isn’t running a current version of PHP. There are infinite issues
that can arise when related to compatibility and it’s not up to WordPress plugin
developers (who are creating plugins for the community for free) to test compatibility
   with every theme.
 * As you can see by the plugin information, it’s tested compatible with WordPress
version 4.9.1, so the real question is if your theme is compatible.
 * To your final point:
 * > I think there IS a way that you can find out, and are choosing not too. What
   > tech question can I ask of the nice people over at Divi to see if it will work?
   > I am sure there is a way to find out without cutting up my website in the process?
 * If you tell me how this could possibly be done, knock yourself out.

 * Of course I dont know how “the business of code works” THATS YOUR JOB! Thats
why I am here. But, this not give anyone the right to be a dick online, and snap
back to someone who loves what you do.
 * YOU obviously dont understand the business of SALES and keeping people happy!
 * You did not give a solution, you said “HOW SHOULD I KNOW”
 * If you LISTENED to what I said, I said I have been using PP already, so clearly
   my PHP works fine.
 * What I was looking for was something a little more as a matter of fact. Such
as, thanks for your question.. I am not sure if it will work or not, but if you
can find out if they… X, Y, Z (whatever) then I will be able to check and see.
But, Nah.. just go and try it was the solution.

 * Go home kid, you’re drunk.
 * I’ll explain this one last time.
 * It’s not, “my job,” to support you. This is a free, open-source plugin, and I’ve
made it available as a courtesy to other WordPress users.
 * The original response I provided, in my opinion, is an optimal solution. I’m
guessing that it wasn’t the response you wanted, however, I’ll again refer you
   to my original response:

 * Actually I am home sick with the FLU. 🙂
 * Look man, for whatever it’s worth.. I have used, and loved PP for years. In my
head I thought I had a simple question, and I see now it’s more complicated.
 * I assumed you might know, or have some additional experience with Divi (because
it’s an amazing theme / platform to build sites). I had no right to assume anything,
   and I am sorry.
 * I wish you the very best in 2018, and hope you and everyone stays happy and healthy!

 * “go through a ton of work to back up the current site,”
 * There’s your problem right there.
 * In all seriousness though, yes $250 is a lot to fork out to test a plug-in but
that aside you could fire up a base WP image in Docker and have a WP test install
   rolling inside of an hour.
 * I would see if Divi would offer some kind of return policy for you in case it
doesn’t work though choosing a theme or framework based on a single free open
source plugin is probably the wrong approach, after all it is easier to replace
   a plugin than a theme.

 * To wrap up this thread, considering the plug-in is essentially CSS, it should
be compatible with all themes. If your theme has overriding blockquote styles,
there are plenty of resolved questions here that give instructions on how to
restore the look for your theme.

 * Update.. I bought the theme, created a sub domain to test it.. and it works just
   fine 🙂
 * Thank you so much!
