# Do I really need Multisite?

 * I’m trying to merge my blogs into one URL while maintaining separate themes. 
   Right now, my sites are:
 * [http://www.domain1.com](http://www.domain1.com)
    subdomain.domain1.com [http://www.domain2.com](http://www.domain2.com)
 * Is this a reason to install Multisite? Would it be complicated for someone with
   minimal coding knowledge to do? Finally, does Multisite mean that everything 
   will be under [http://www.domain1.com](http://www.domain1.com) and therefore 
   improve my stats?

 * Is it complicated? It can be. How familiar are you with WordPress?

 * You mean your SEO, and … not really the way you’re asking. It won’t hurt it either
   though.

 * Yeah, I meant my SEO. If it doesn’t really help, would it just be easier to move
   [http://www.domain2.com](http://www.domain2.com) to subdomain2.domain.com? I 
   don’t exactly update the site anymore and that won’t require multisite. Installing
   multisite seems confusing and I don’t want to break domain.com.

 * Easier is totally subjective.
 * You can set up subdomain2.domain.com and map it to domain2.com (which is what
   a lot of us do). The benefits to mutlsite come with upkeep and logins. If I only
   have to update ONE location for WP for 10 sites, it’s easier than 10 separates
   for many people.
 * SEO is less of a factor of ‘what your URL is’ and more of ‘what your content 
   is’ so keep that in mind.
