 * I’m using document library lite on several pages on a site.
 * On one page the description is pulled through correctly, in another it isn’t –
   however it does show correctly in divi builder, when I exit divi builder is changes.
   I’ve cleared caches.
 * The affected pages are behind a membership area and are on pages that are lessons
   in Learndash.

 * Hi [@jogretton](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jogretton/),
 * Thank you for using Document LIbrary Lite.
 * From what you have described, the issue you are experiencing is most likely due
   to the membership plugin that you are using, which is somehow hiding the description.
 * The Document Library Lite uses a regular WordPress description field, from a
   regular custom post type, so there should be no reason why some documents show
   the description and others don’t.
 * So in order for you to test if this issue is related to Document Library Lite,
   you can create several documents with descriptions and show them on a regular
   page, not using a membership area.
   Even better, you can deactivate all membership
   plugins.If you do that and you check that all the descriptions are now shown,
   then the issue is not related to Document Library Lite.
 * Could you please try that, and let us know if the document descriptions are all
   visible?
   Thank you.Besr regards.

 * Hi
 * Standard pages – the description appears as they should
 * Pages within Learndash – description is incorrect and seems to be more like the
   breadcrumb of the page. The problem appears when the documents are on in Learndash
   pages.
 * Memberdash is also installed and has no effect on the decriptions when deactivated.

 * Hi, [@jogretton](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jogretton/).
 * Thank you for bringing to our attention the compatibility issue between our plugin
   and LearnDash pages.
 * As compatibility matters for our free plugins fall beyond the scope of our support,
   we recommend considering the assistance of a third-party developer to help integrate
   the two.
   I hope this helps. Should you have any additional questions, please
   don’t hesitate to reach out.Best regards,Adrian

 * Hi Adrian
 * Would you suggest that we would have the same issue with compatibility with the
   Pro version of the plugin?

 * Hello, [@jogretton](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jogretton/).
 * Although I can’t offer a definitive answer on this matter, typically, if there’s
   an issue with compatibility in the free version, it may also occur in the Pro
   version, especially if they share similar codebase or functionalities. I’ve noted
   this as a new feature request.
 * I hope this information is helpful. Feel free to reach out if you have any further
   questions.
 * Best regards,
   Adrian

 * Hi Adrian
 * Thanks for the honesty there.
 * Is there a shordcode i can use that removes the descripton altogether? I’ve tried
   some but nothign changes so i don’t know if i’ve got them right.
 * This is what we’re currenly using, with different categories on different pages:
 * [doc_library doc_category=”cslm+module-1+slides”]

 * Hi [@jogretton](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jogretton/).
 * Thanks for asking!
 * Could you please provide a public link to the page in question? Please ensure
   that **no sensitive data **(such as username or password) **is included**. Simply
   share the URL of the page so that I can take a look.
 * Thank you so much! I look forward to your reply.

 * Hi Adrian
 * It’s not possible to give you the URL without a login and password – it’s in
   a protected area of the site in a Learndash course.
 * Is there another way to get this information to you?

 * Hi, [@jogretton](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jogretton/).
 * Thanks for letting me know. It’s best not to share login credentials here, as
   we discourage users from posting sensitive data in a public forum.
   Could you
   please use the following shortcode instead?[doc_library doc_category=”cslm, module-
   1, slides”]Please let me know if this works for you.Best regards,Adrian

 * Hi Adrian
 * That shortcode didn’t work – it pulled through every document in the library
   with the wrong description.
 * The descriptions look fine when i’m in the divi builder, when i save and close
   the descriptions revert to course name – module name – progress – description.
 * This is so long that you don’t see the whole description and it initially looks
   the same for each document.

 * Hi, [@jogretton](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jogretton/).
 * Thanks for providing further information.
 * I think it would be helpful if you could provide me with a small section of the
   document library table where I can see the issue firsthand. You can use the Lightshot
   app to take a screenshot ([https://app.prntscr.com/en/index.html](https://app.prntscr.com/en/index.html)).

   Please make sure not to expose any sensitive information. I just want to gain
   a better understanding of the situation, and then I’ll consult with our development
   team to see if they can provide a workaround to remove the descriptions altogether.
   I look forward to your response. Thanks!Best regards,Adrian

 * Hi Adrian
 * This is the shortcode i’m using:
 * [doc_library doc_category=”cslm+module-7+essential”]
 * This is what is seen on the page:
 * ![](https://i0.wp.com/www.allertontrust.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Description-
   on-page.png?ssl=1)
 * This is what is seen on Divi Visual Editor:

   as-seen-when-editing-in-Divi-Page-Builder.png?ssl=1)

 * Hi, [@jogretton](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jogretton/).
 * Thanks for your reply.
 * (1) Please note that when using the **doc_category** shortcode option;
   – The “**,**”
   symbol indicates “_or_” (i.e. display Documents that have been added to category
   A **or** category B). – The “**+**” symbol indicates “_and_” (i.e. display Documents
   that have been added to both category A **and** category B).
 * I hope the above helps you set which Documents to display in each instance of
   the `[doc_library]` shortcode on your website.
 * (2) As for the document description (content), the document library data fields
   displayed as columns in the table layout are set globally via the _Documents_
   > _Settings_ > _Document Tables_ tab – _Library content_ – _**Columns**_ field
   on your website. You can remove the Document description/content column by omitting/
   removing “_content_” from this field.
 * Alternatively, you can add/include/use the `[doc_library]` **content** shortcode
   option to set which columns are displayed in each document library. E.g. `[doc_library
   doc_category="cslm+module-7+essential" content="title,link"]`.
 * (3) I reviewed this thread from the beginning and believe the issue you’re experiencing
   with the Document descriptions/content displaying differently in the membership
   area of your website could be due to LearnDash because it appears to be isolated
   to lesson pages of the latter.
 * I hope this makes sense and helps. Please let me know how it goes, and if you
   have any questions.
 * Best regards,
   Edge

 * Hi Edge
 * Thanks for the code – that has worked in removing the description alltogether.
 * I think this is the best option while there is a conflict with Learndash.
 * Thanks for your help.
