# Does changing Permalink setting affect existing pages?

 * Just a general Permalink question for the community. I’ve been advised by a plug-
   in author to change my Permalink setting.
 * Currently, my permalink is set to POST NAME.
 * What effect would changing to CUSTOM STRUCTURE have on my currently named pages?
   Anything? Or do already named pages and posts remain intact?
 * So currently, my CUSTOM STRUCTURE default is /%postname%/
 * They suggested I change it to /%category%/%postname%/
 * I just want to know the after effects, before I attempt this for plugin use. 
   Thanks!

 * Just to clarify, would it also affect all existing PAGES? I can live with it 
   changing posts, since I only have a handful of those. Thanks!
