 * Hi,
 * A fellow Administrator on a site disabled this plugin when investigating load
   issues a few days ago, and when it was activated again, the Audit Log Viewer
   is empty.
 * Is that the normal behaviour? Is there anyway to get the old Audit Log Viewer
   log back?
 * Thanks,
 * Sal.

 * Thank you for using our plugin [@sallymoos](https://wordpress.org/support/users/sallymoos/)
 * No, that is not normal behaviour. The plugin keeps the [WordPress log in the database](https://www.wpsecurityauditlog.com/support-documentation/plugin-database-documentation/)
   and it is only deleted if:
 * 1) You enable the setting to delete all database data upon uninstall
    2) Uninstall
   the plugin (not just deactivate).
 * By the way, it is also possible to purge the logs from the plugin settings. Could
   it be your colleague has done so?

 * Thanks [@robert681](https://wordpress.org/support/users/robert681/).
 * I checked the database via phpmyadmin and it’s clear – only enries from today
   when I re-enabled it.
 * I suspect the curprit purged the logs – maybe he messed up something and removed
   the evidence! 🙄
 * Cheers,
 * Sal.

 * I am afraid that must be the case. Do you have a backup of the database? You
   can retrieve the activity log from the backups.

 * Yes, I have a backup, but it’s no biggie … everything works fine, so whatever
   he did to mess up (if he did mess up) he has now fixed anyway. 🙂
 * Thanks,
 * S.

 * Glad to hear everything is sorted. Should you have any other questions do not
   hesitate to get in touch.
 * By the way, would appreciate if you can spare a minute to [rate our plugin and service](https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/#reviews).
   Thank you in advance for your time.
