# Does Flash work in WordPress??

 * Hello all!
 * I know this question has popped up numerous times; I’ve read countless forums
   and have tried every plugin and such I can get my hands on. All I’m trying to
   do is get a Flash header to load properly. All I’ve been able to get is just 
   a white box. If I right click on the box, I get all the usual options that you
   would if it were a normal flash component.

 * Im modifying this theme for a friend of mines band. He and the band is really
   into Flash, and I dont want to disapoint. If anyone can help me, I’d be most 
   grateful…even if its directing me to a thread thats already covered this (I’m
   pretty sure I looked through them all already).

 * Flash works just fine if you use proper markup. It also helps to provide the 
   full URL to the flash object.

 * You have the “object” but not the “embed”. That’s probably why it’s not showing.
 * I’d say that, for best results, use [swfobject](http://blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/).
   Helps get it all right, and make it valid.

 * You should never, ever, use an “embed”. It’s invalid code in all forms of HTML
   and XHTML. Stick with pure objects.
 * The swfobject javascript is a decent compromise.

 * Yeah, I’ve read several posts with Whooami roasting those using the depreciated
   tag. I’ve been trying this for days now…and it turns out it was just a permissions
   error with my hosting. ::sigh::
