 * Does HideMyWP Plugin Stop Google and other search engines knowing that your website
   is running on wordpress?
 * If it does, how does it do this?
 * I am liking to a website from many other websites that are all using wordpress.
   It will look unnatural if all the sites linking to the main website are using
   wordpress. Will hide my wordpress plugin stop Google knowing this?
 * Thanks

 * Hi,
 * I don’t know if Google will ever look at or care about the CMS you’re using ;).
   Changing all the WP common paths from your websites will definitely hide your
   websites from hacker bots who continuously attack the WP themes and plugins.
 * You can check the CMS you are using with [https://whatcms.org/](https://whatcms.org/)
 * Best,
    John

 * Since Google is just a bunch of bots crawling the web, do you think Hide My WP
   plugin will stop Google knowing that the site is wordpress like it does to other
   bots? Thanks for the first response, appreciated.

 * By changing and hiding the WP common paths, the bots will not be able to crawl
   the old paths but only the new ones. Most likely the CMS detectors (even Google)
   are saying that you’re not using WordPress for your website. Our main goal is
   to protect your website from bot attacks and we didn’t have any breach so far.
