# Does “Refuse consent” really work?

 * **If** the “Refuse Consent” option is **enabled **and the user clicks “**no**“,
   are third party non-functional cookies actually disabled by the plugin? Or is
   that just the trigger for another piece of code or plugin to handle?

 * Would like to know this too, as a tool I used claimed this wasn’t GDPR compliant
   for this exact reason.. but I’m unsure if the tool is accurate or just trying
   to sell its own cookie plugin.

   no response from the developer, my assumption is that if a user clicks “no” nothing
   really happens.

    Currently using Cookiebot.
   Depending on the size of your site though it isn’t free.
