Thank you for contacting Payment Plugins. This plugin does support subscriptions that were created using PayPal Standard. That means you can switch to this plugin seamlessly and your subscription renewal payments will process automatically.
This plugin doesn’t use PayPal standard because PayPal is shifting toward PPCP being their primary offering. However, with all of the settings we support in this plugin, you can create a PayPal Standard like experience if that is what you desire.

So I’m clear, your plugin can be used to maintain a subscription already set-up with PayPal Standard, but it can’t be used if the site owner prefers to process payments at PayPal (as opposed to on his own site via PPCP) when Woocommerce force an update to PPCP?

That’s not quite accurate. This plugin has a setting so you can redirect the customer to PayPal to process the payment if that’s what you prefer. That provides the PayPal Standard experience.

Yes, that’s what is preferred! I assume it’s straightforward to switch from PayPal Standard (via WooCommerce currently) to using PayPal Standard in your plugin?

Yes, switching is straightforward and only requires that you enable our plugin and disable the PayPal Standard plugin.
