    Hi there,

I’m trying to scan a clients’ site to find out which images are not in use, however their image directory is incredibly large. If I have a local copy of the site that doesn’t actually have the files in /wp-content/uploads/*, will the scan still work?

I presume the scan is mostly database dependant but wanted to check.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @kriby,

Yes, it will, but only with the “Media Library” scan, not with the “Filesystem” scan.

I presume the scan is mostly database dependant but wanted to check.

Actually not, Media Cleaner also uses the information about the plugins installed, and sometimes even run their functions directly in order to discover more usage and resolve data. So absolutely keep all the plugins enabled, just like the production website.

    Have a nice Saturday 🙂
