# Doesn’t work with PHP 8

 * I can confirm that this plugin can cause a crashed site. Host updated to php 
   8.0 this morning, making the site break. Checked the error logs and saw this 
   smoking gun:
 * [01-Mar-2022 18:18:25 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: is_file(): Argument#
   1 ($filename) must be of type string, GdImage given in /home1/ctdpedia/public_html/
   wp-content/plugins/auto-smart-thumbnails/inc/class-ast-face-detector.php:63
 * I rolled the site back to php 7.3, and the site came back immediately, and no
   new errors showed up. Because this plugin hasn’t been updated recently, I’d only
   use it with caution.
