# Doesn’t work without theme

 * This is the only one out of 3 advanced recent comments widget plugins I’ve tested
   that didn’t work at all in Oxygen builder. Throws out an error message about 
   not being registered with the WordPress installation.

 * I’m sorry to hear you’re having difficulty with using [Better Recent Comments](https://barn2.co.uk/wordpress-plugins/better-recent-comments/?utm_source=support&utm_content=support-email)
   with the Oxygen builder plugin you’re using (which we have not tested with).
 * Please may I know the exact error message that displays and the procedure or 
   at what point you experience it on your site.

    No ‘Barn2PluginBetter_Recent_CommentsWidget’ widget registered in this
   installation”
 * This error message appears right away when adding the widget to a page in Oxygen
   builder. There are no options available to do any modifications or setups. Just
   this error message right on the spot where the widget should appear.

 * Please may I know if you’ve isolated this issue to only occur in the Oxygen builder
   on your site. Are there any errors with the Better Recent Comments widget in 
   the default WordPress editor on your site?

 * It’s not available as a Gutenberg block if that’s what you’re asking. I believe
   the issue of the plugin is that it requires a theme to work properly. Oxygen 
   builder disables any theme though.

 * My apologies for not getting back to you sooner and thanks for your reply with
   that additional info about the issue.
 * It sounds like you’re building landing pages using Oxygen Builder, which are 
   independent of the active theme on a site. Please may I know if the Oxygen Builder
   might have a block or element that allows you to display/use WordPress shortcodes,
   and if so (rather than display Better Recent Comments via a theme widget) could
   you try instead displaying the comments via the `[better_recent_comments]` shortcode
   on the page you’re building.
