 * After updating, all my slides were gone as it switched to ‘lite’ version. Pulled
the old version back from a backup and everything is working fine again. Found
out later that I just had to click one button and all would be well. In fact,
the newer version is even better than the old version. 4 stars instead of 5 because
there was no banner on the dashboard telling me I needed to do more than just‘
   upgrade’ the plugin.

 * Hi [@jimwall2](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jimwall2/), this isn’t true.
You simply have to click the ‘Import settings from v1.x’ button. Simple, and
clearly documented. See the FAQs (also made a stickied support topic on it).
 * > **I’ve upgraded from v1.x and my slides have disappeared.**
   > Don’t sweat! Simply
   > navigate to the “Edit Slideshow” admin panel and click the “Import my Easing
   > Slider v1.x settings” button. That’s it! If you run into any trouble, don’t

 * Due to unresolvable circumstances it wasn’t possible to make the settings upgrade
automatic. Sadly this was beyond our control. Lots of information on this in
the support forums also, you can see some of the support topics about problems
users were having related to filename changes.
 * Unfortunately, taking a manual approach was the solution and seems to have resolved
all of the headaches. Not ideal, but it works.
 * I’m sorry you’ve felt the need to leave a 1 star review like this. My apologies
for the misunderstanding. I do hope you will reconsider your opinion of the update,
and I definitely encourage you to give it another try.

 * Thank you for the reply. I will update my stars as I now know the newer version
   is better…
 * However, other plugins have put up a banner on the dashboard that give that instruction.
With all of my sites, and all the plugins I have, I rarely check out each update
unless there is a banner that shows up telling me there is something else to
   do.
 * With this update, I just knew that the name of the plugin changed, and the slideshow
   wasn’t there.

 * There is a banner on the ‘Slideshow’ panel, but not throughout the WordPress
admin area as a whole. It’s a good idea though, maybe I’ll add it to the next
update. I’ll definitely get looking into it.

 * Thanks for changing your review, definitely greatly appreciated! 🙂 Hope you
get some better use out of the update.
