• Hi, apparently it can happen that two (or more) invoices are created with the same invoice number. Example scenarios:

    1. Two site users with invoice creation rights start a manual invoice (Invoices > Add new) at the same time. Both will have the same suggested invoice title number which is then saved on each invoice publication.
    2. When running the Pro extension with the option to automatically create invoices on checkout… If such a checkout happens during a manual invoice creation (via the admin), after “Add new” but before that new invoice has been saved… Will those two invoices not have the same number?

    I notice that when two invoices carry the same name (=number), those double names will show red in the Invoices list. But the problem is not prevented and if it not noticed in time, can cause serious legal problems.

    So, would it not be safer to not use the invoice title as the invoice number but use a dedicated meta value for that, which is created during the first publication of the invoice? Similar to the post ID, it would need a be a unique number. This unique number can then be used for the invoice number (in combination with pre/suffix) on PDF creation…

    The invoice title can then be free for the admin to change or leave the same without messing up invoice numbering. Less prone to conflicts, more secure against legal problems 😉

    Or does the Pro version fix these problems?

    That is right – this situation will occur if two users add manual invoices at the same time. The PRO version does not change this.
    I reported it to our developer. We will implement a mechanism that prevents this if possible.
