 * I would like to use this plugin to allow logged in users ONLY to download files
and be able to report which users downloaded the files with time stamp.
 * Please advise if this plugin has a unique folder used for download files that
is set up with .htaccess protection so that the files can not be downloaded with
a direct link that bypasses the application via http or ftp.
 * Can the app be configured to require the user be logged in to download and log
   the downloads?

 * Download Manager file location is secured from unauthorized access. One can download
a file only if admin allows that. And there are many ways to control that access
like role-based, user based, category etc.
