Download link issues

I had a customer purchase a product download and payment never showed up on Paypal so I marked it as pending after my web developer marked it as completed. Several days later payment appeared via paypal and I was contacted by the customer saying the download link didn’t work. I went back in and marked the order as complete but the link still does not work. How can I get the client a working link asap? Will I need to reset something?
