 * When trying to download the file, the website takes the password and then gets
   stuck on processing.

 * I tried learning, my browser cache, the WP cache and deleted and reinstalled 
   the plugin.

 * Probably any of your active plugin controling access to rest api, now when user
   trying to download, it is declining access to rest route for guests/visitors 
   with the following error:

 * If I put brackets “[ ]” around the password, it works. I only have one password.
