Hey Demian,
It looks like this post was intended for the Instagram Feed forum but I can give you an explanation.
The new API only supplies one image size in the API data from Instagram’s CDN. It’s a full 1080×1080 resolution for square images. To work around loading a very large image on your site, the plugin does two things. First it will use a special URL that redirects to additional size options in Instagram’s CDN (like you are experiencing). It will also create local, resized images stored on your server and use those if they exist.
My guess is that the local, resized image feature isn’t working on your site. Normally this is due to something on your host’s server not being configured properly, unless you have manually disabled this feature.
We are hoping Instagram/Facebook provides more options from it’s CDN soon but this is the solution we have for now.
If you would like more help with the image resizing issues, you can send a link to a page that has the feed on it or contact us on our website with your System Info: https://smashballoon.com/instagram-feed/support/
Thanks!

Hi @craig-at-smash-balloon
Excuse me I have posted in on the wrong plugin, I blame Google Search
Could you let me know where the images should be stored locally, so I can check?
Thanks!
Hey Demian,
Sure!
This would be in the uploads folder. There should be a custom directory “sb-instagram-feed-images”
Typically when this fails it’s due to something not being configured correctly on the server. You could see if the image editor on the server is working properly as well.
