# Drop-down Menu Javascript for IE

 * Hello,
 * I have created a css drop-down menu, and am attempting to use the javascript 
   from the article at Alistapart: Suckerfish Dropdowns – [http://www.alistapart.com/articles/dropdowns/](http://www.alistapart.com/articles/dropdowns/)
   to get IE to display the dropdowns.
 * Right now, I have put the javascript inside the header.php file. Is this correct?
   Not quite sure where to go from here, not having expreimented with javascript
   before!!!

 * I just spent a whole week working on this problem for a friend’s website.
 * I couldn’t get the Suckerfish menu to work in Explorer (Windows or Mac) even 
   though the original Suckerfish menu works just fine in both browsers. After several
   days I gave up and tried the “[Son of Suckerfish](http://www.htmldog.com/ptg/archives/000050.php)”
   dropdown menu described at HTML Dog Blog.
 * That one didn’t work in Explorer either, until I found [this one](http://www.htmldog.com/ptg/archives/000050.php#comment124),
   which lead me to the corrected Javascript presented on [this page](http://simeons.net/code/suckerfish_ie5mac_fix.htm)
   by Simeon Willbanks.
 * Now it works in several browsers including Windows and Mac Explorer.
 * For proper placement, look at the source code on Simeon’s page to see where he
   placed it. That’s what I did. It needs to go between the “head” tags.
