# Dropdown menu?

 * Hello,
 * I want to add dropdown menus to my main nav, but it seems my theme does not support
   this. When I attempt to make dropdowns via “parent page” or Appearance>>Menus
   >>move items underneath/to the right, the menu remains static and no dropdown
   is added.

 * Any idea what to modify in the coding to resolve this issue?

 * Why are you using an old copy of WordPress? Were you aware that your site is 
   currently running a very real risk of being hacked? You need to upgrade WordPress
   asap. As you have such an old version of WordPress, you will need to carry out

 * Thank you for responding, esmi, i really appreciate it.
 * It was a custom theme designed for my website (by a designer, not myself). I 
   will look into upgrading and see if it will alter the appearance of my site.
 * Upgrading aside, any idea if I can change the code to allow for dropdown menus?

 * Sorry – not if it’s a custom theme. We have absolutely no idea how that theme
   was constructed. Also the level of coding/CSS needed would really beyond the 
   scope of the support we are able to provide in the forum. If you cannot manage
   this yourself, you may want to consider [hiring someone](http://jobs.wordpress.net/)
