Dropdown Menu Background Color

Greetings, I’m bewildered on this issue. I’m using Gravity Forms and using a plugin, Styles & Layout for Gravity forms. On the form, when you go to “State” or “Choose Level” or “Payment Method”, the background color needs to be changed so you can read the menu options. I can’t figure out what to do with this. It seems the background color from the theme is overriding whatever I have for drop down menus. On main navigation, it’s fine (after putting in some CSS) but on the form itself, it’s still using the default dark blue color (with black lettering!) The goal is to make the form’s dropdown background color white and the lettering black to keep it simple. Can you assist? Thank you.
