 * Hi
 * I am a novice trying to upload a database on my website. I am following the step
   by step guide given to me by my site designer and am experiencing a mapping error
   when trying to upload a csv file as posts.
 * The error is as follows:
    Error: post_status are mandatory fields. Please map
   the fields to proceed.
 * In the instruction from the site designer, when converting the database from
   xl to csv he’s instructed me to ‘wrap’ and ‘encase’ the text with single quotes.
   I am not receiving these options after converting the file (I use xl 2010 and
   believe he may be referring to an older version).
 * Is there a Dummies Guide to uploading files from xl 2010 to completion?

 * The error means that your Excel file needs a column ‘post_status’.
 * Make that column, keep the cells in that column empty, while importing, the plugin
   will let you override the empty cells and let you choose the status ‘publish’
   and your stories or pages will be online.
 * I’m always using a ; to separate the columns in my csv files, since the textual
   content could have comma’s which will conflict.
 * Forgive my lousy English.

 * Thank you
 * I have managed to resolve the issue using the ; after each title as per your
   suggestion. Although I have mapped the fields separately they now appear in one
   continuous line. I have tried variations on the layout within excel but cannot
   get the fields to correspond. What am I doing wrong? I still maintain a dummies
   guide would be the answer.
 * Your English is great.
 * Thanks for the help

 * You can choose Publish instead of Status as in CSV option. So that no need to
   map post_status. Hope this helps
