 * I have a KnowledgeBase (Echo KB) that has a left sidebar. For some articles it
   is used to create a TOC. For other articles, it is not. I’m looking for a way
   to either dynamically have the sidebar checked and collapsed if empty, or an
   option on the article page to simply select, include sidebar.
 * Right now EKB has the sidebar on or off, and we can’t turn it off as many articles
   need a ToC. But this makes many other articles have a massive white space on
   the left.
 * Can this plugin help?

 * Do you know if the template that the knowledgebase uses is part of the Echo KB
   plugin or your theme?
 * It is possible to automatically hide sidebars and make the layout become full-
   width, and most modern themes support it by leaving the sidebar empty. However,
   as you experienced, in other cases it just leaves a blank space. You can read
   more about that here: [https://dev.institute/blog/remove-hide-sidebar-wordpress-page/](https://dev.institute/blog/remove-hide-sidebar-wordpress-page/)

 * After more looking and testing, it is the Echo KB.
 * When you add “articles” to it, you do so in a 95% similar looking page editor,
   but it has no controls for sidebar. The EKB settings have sidebar controls, on/
   off, left/right, but nothing for “only when needed”.
