# Edit Basic Thumbnails Template

 * Hi,
    I want to create a parent theme based on the standard one that use the “
   basic thumbnails” gallery. Which file do I need to edit? If I use gallery.php
   as basis, the thumbnails are bigger than the dimensions setted in “NEXTGEN basic
   thumbnails” options.

 * If you are wanting to create a custom template it would be best to start with
   one of the templates in this folder:
    `../wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/
   products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/ngglegacy/view`
 * For Basic Thumbnails you would typically use one of the `gallery` templates.
 * Please keep in mind not all Customization settings will be honored in a custom
   template so you may need to make allowances for that if the output is not what
   you expected.

 * Thanks, but I have a little problem. The thumbnails are not sized according to
   the “thumbnail dimensions” in the “basic thumbnails” in gallery settings options,
   but according to the “default thumbnail dimensions” in “other options”.
 * How can I solve this?
