Thank you Tom,
i just tried 2 out of 3 from that post (I’m not using tinymce for editing). i’m still not seeing content, though. I should note- the editing buttons do appear for me, just not the text/images in the editing area.
Thanks,
Katy

Which one didn’t you try?
Have you tried deactivating all plugins to see if it’s plugin related?
Is your WP up to date? How about your plugins?
sorry- the one i didnt try was “Replacing TinyMCE Scripts,” because I’m not using that as my editor.
i did try disabling all plug-ins, and then enabling one by one to see if i could find one that may have been causing it. i also have the latest version of WP, generatepress and all of my plug-ins.

You’re not using TinyMCE as your editor? What are you using?
WordPress uses TinyMCE by default, so if you’re using something different and it’s not displaying the text, it’s probably something in the custom editor you’re using.
Let me know 🙂
I apologize, Tom. I’m really new at this, and thought that tinymce was a plug-in. I do not have another editor installed, so it seems I am using that. I did go to the file manager to find the /wp-includes/js/tinymce/ folder. When the site suggests to replace with a fresh copy, where would i obtain that? i do see the option to download tinymce on this page, but i am not sure which version i would need: http://www.tinymce.com/download/download.php
Thank you in advance for your help. And thanks for being patient with a newbie 🙂

No worries, Katy!
Are you using the latest version of WordPress?
You can try going to “Dashboard > Updates” and clicking on “Re-install Now” to re-install WordPress if it’s up to date.
Let me know 🙂
ok, that worked!!! Thank you very much 🙂
