Editing existing published pages

    Is it possible to edit an existing published page, changing it status from published to pending review, without causing a 404 error. I need to make edits to existing pages and send those pages through a review workflow. But after making the edits, if I click update and the page status is published, then the changes are live without any review. If I change the status from published to pending review, the page is in effect removed from the live site.

    What you’re describing isn’t built in to WordPress, but you may want to check out the Post Forking plugin.

    Thanks for the quick response. Post forking looks promising and I’m going to install it and check it out. To be useful though it will have to work with both posts, custom posts and pages. After I check it out I’ll update this thread.

    Anyone have other plugins that does this functionality?
