# editing posts – toggle between “text” and “code” loses all formatting.

 * editing posts – toggle between “text” and “code” loses all formatting.
 * this is a new problem, which started happening after I looked and tweaked some
   CSS or theme files, trying to manage the font size of the header.
 * What’s weird is I don’t remember having this toggle feature before – but either
   way I can’t avoid using it now, and it’s totally dysfunctional.
 * Anytime I toggle to “code” to check my adsense ads or pictures, all the text 
   gets “scrunched”, losing all sentence and paragraph formating. (It all turns 
   into a single, long paragraph)
 * If I try to toggle back to “text mode”, most formatting is gone there as well,
   and there’s no sign of ads or images to be found.
 * — I’ve tried a few different themes as a work-around, thinking any tweaking I
   did before was specific to the theme, but this has had no effect.
 * Has anyone else encountered this, or have a suggestion to help me move forward.
   I’ll be upgrading WP soon, but was hoping to resolve this beforehand.

 * Turn off the Visual Editor.
 * You can do this by going to User > Profile > Uncheck Visual Editor Box on top
   of screen.
