Effects not working

Using nextgen gallery 2.0.33 and pro 1.06 I find the effects are not working, specifically thumbnail gallery’s have no slideshow component.
Permalink settings are set to postname, router slug and permalink slug are the same (gallery), but have changed these to no effect. Slug is filled out in the display gallerys what would you like to display.

No matter which lightbox effect I select, all I get is an image if I click on a thumbnail.
