    WordPress Version: 6.1
    Elementor Version 3.8.0
    Theme Astra

When uploading big images, Elementor (or WordPress?) scales the image to a smaller version. That scaled image dont get the correct image EXIF information. The image looks correct in the image library.

But when adding that image to a post with Elementor image the image looks correct at the post. The problem is when adding link to the media file to see the bigger version the image is rotated 90 degrees in the image display window.

I had the original image 1500 x 2560 pixels. That was automatic scaled to 871 x 2560 when uploaded to WordPress. When open this scaled image it is rotated 90 degrees.

I solved the issue by pre scaling the image to 600 x 1765 pixels and uploaded that image. No automatic scaling was done and the image works perfect in the Elementor image display.

According to my investigation the automatic scaled image miss the correct EXIF information. If this is a WordPress problem please direct me to the right report forum.

It was the news images in the bottom of this page.

    https://goteborgsmagiskaklubb.se/gmk-10-ar-11-oktober-1952/

Now they are uploaded smaller so they dont turn but when scaled they roatate 90 degrees when I click on them.

    Hi,

Can you disable all your experiments, please?
except for the Flex Box experiment (If you have it on your site)
    https://elementor.com/help/elementor-experiments
If it solves the issue, reactivate them one by one to find the culprit.

Please make sure that all of your Plug-ins and Theme are updated.
Sometimes it isn’t obvious that there is a plugin update available. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Updates and click the Check Again button to be sure.

Please also regenerate the CSS via Elementor > Tools > Regenerate CSS on your WordPress Dashboard,

then make sure that you are clear:
your WordPress cache (your WordPress plugin if you have one), your server cache (if
you have one. In this case, you can contact your hosting provider).

Please deactivate all your plugins besides Elementor and see if it helps. If it solves the issue, reactivate them one by one to find the culprit. If it didn’t help, switch your theme (temporarily) and see if it makes any difference.
