Anytime I activate the Elementor plugin, my posts turn into one single column line of text. I posted about this before and received a response with some CSS to patch the problem, but I need to eliminate the root of the issue so I can use Elementor for my header. I marked that thread resolved, and am starting this in hopes that someone can help.

I’ve narrowed it down to the elementor plugin – I turn it off and it fixes the problem, I turn it on and it returns.

I have WordPress 6.2 with Astra theme.

The image below is an example of what happens. I currently have Elementor turned off to avoid the issue.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hi,

Can you disable all your experiments, please?

except for the Flex Box experiment (If you have it on your site)

    https://elementor.com/help/elementor-experiments

If it solves the issue, reactivate the ones you use.

    • Please make sure that all of your Plug-ins and Theme are updated.
    • Sometimes it isn’t obvious that there is a plugin update available. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Updates and click the Check Again button to be sure.
    • Please also regenerate the CSS via Elementor > Tools > Regenerate CSS on your WordPress Dashboard,
    • then make sure that you are clear:
    • your WordPress cache (your WordPress plugin if you have one), your server cache (if
    • you have one. In this case, you can contact your hosting provider).
    • Please deactivate all your plugins besides Elementor and see if it helps. If it solves the issue, reactivate them one by one to find the culprit. If it didn’t help, switch your theme (temporarily) and see if it makes any difference.

Thank you for your response. I did do all those things and it hasn’t resolved the issue. You wrote:

Turning Elementor on is what creates the issue.

If it helps, when I active Elementor, then hit “refresh” on my browser – for a split second, it shows the layout correctly, then it’s as if something kicks in and causes it to render in the one line of text down the right side. I tried deleting Elementor and re-adding the plugin to see if that would give me a clean copy, but that didn’t fix it.

Ok, in an attempt to resolve this and help pinpoint the issue, I inspected the page code and it showed the following that seems to point to some kind of widget, but how would I edit that spacing? There is no widget anywhere in the main container on the site posts page. My homepage is set to display my latest posts and this is on my homepage.

FYI – I’ve disabled elementor for now so the alignment issue goes away so if you go to the page you won’t see it live.

Any guesses at where this can fix the root issue (not patched with CSS) would be appreciated. Thank you.

Here’s the code that seems to be affecting that area:
