Email Users for Author Role

    Is there a way to make this available Authors? I have a few different users that will be authoring posts, but in order for the Email Users panel to show up in the new post page I have to make them Editors which gives way more access than I would like them to have.
    Is there a setting for this that I may have missed?

    Yes. If you look at the settings page there is a section toward the bottom of the page which explains what the capabilities defined by Email Users are and what they offer. You will need a capabilities management plugin to assign permission to your various users you want to be able to send email.

    Email Users doesn’t have an capabilities management per se, it simply defines them and uses them if they exist but by default, falls back to the standard WordPress roles.
