 * I wonder if people could help me with something.
    What do I place in each of
   these?
 * Mail server: Port:
    Login name: Password:
 * What I tried was:
 * Mail server: mail.MYSITE.net
    Login name: [blog@mysite.net](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/emailing-in-posts/blog@mysite.net?output_format=md)
   Password : I made something easy to remember
 * Obviously i didn’t put mysite.net i used my actual domain, but nothing happens.
   What have I done wrong?

 * You might try reading this

 * At least you get an idea of what else is involved. I haven’t figured it out yet,
   but I know you have to go to some other site to allow the post to go through.
   I got some error message when I tried that. see my post “help with email posting”.
   I haven’t heard back from anyone yet.

 * Wow, this is great! I followed the instructions to the point and it works.
    I
   was wondering about the advantage of doing so and must say I like that I can
   use my favorite mail programm with the spell checker. 😉 And I get a neat way
   to archive posts either within my mail program or in some other folder.

 * I’m baffled. I followed those instructions word for word, and it still doesn’t
   find the mail.
 * I’m happy for you Mikofox. Did you set anything in your ftp on your server? Or
   did you just set up the email address on both ends and it worked? Which version
   of wp do you use? 1.2 or 1.5?
 * Anyone else who has any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 * I finally figured out the problem. When you fill out the login info for the email
   post in wp admin, the login name is not just a name, it’s the entire email address.
 * I hope this helps others who might have a similar problem.

 * Must have been something else in your case, or it’s different from system to
   system. I use only the first part before the @ for my login.
